Flexible Crystals
Media Details
Created 11/16/2004
This image illustrates microstructured single crystal silicon transfer-printed onto mylar. These materials may enable new types of large-area, flexible, or even wearable microelectronics applications. The photograph was captured in the VMIL using the Canon 1Ds 11MP Digital-SLR. A blue lighting gel was placed over a light box in order to provide illumination for the transparent mylar, and contrast for the silicon.
