Our fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) microscope is a single-molecule fluorescence confocal microscope and has recently been equipped with a Spectra-Physics Millennia pumped Tsunami Ti:Sapphire ultrafast laser. The power of this microscope was extended with the development of multiphoton fluorescence microscopy systems supporting high-resolution characterizations of the structure and function of samples. This image was obtained using 2 mW infrared Ti:Sapphire femtosecond pule laser (approx. 800 nm). It shows a thin section (100 um X 100 um) of vascular bundles from the rhizome portion of the Lily of the Valley plant Convallaria.
