Gold Nanoparticles on Magnetic Silica Spheres

Media Details
Created 9/5/2006 5:00:00 AM
SEM image of gold nanoparticles on magnetic silica spheres with an average diameter of 200 nm. The nanoparticles, 15 nm in diameter and negatively charged, attach to the surfaces of the magnetic silica spheres via electrostatic interaction due to positively charged polymer coating. Such particles have potential uses for MRI.
