Micro contact printed stripes on a gold substrate comparing the topographic and adhesion images from pulsed force mode imaging with an octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) derivatized tip. The bright stripes in the adhesion image are hexadecanethiol (HDT) and the surrounding areas are filed with 3-mercaptopropanoic acid (MPA). This image was acquired using the AFM in pulse force mode in the Microscopy Suite.
